Garnbret Celebrates Historic 50th World Cup Victory

Two-time Olympic champion Janja Garnbret (SLO) stole the spotlight once again at the World Climbing Series INnsbruck 2026, celebrating the 50th World Cup victory of her remarkable career.

“Fifty wins – it’s just crazy! And I’m not done yet. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey,” said the Slovenian superstar with tears in her eyes. “I love Innsbruck. This place always brings out the best in me. I can feel the energy of the fans.”

Austria’s Jessica Pilz, meanwhile, was unable to fully showcase the form she has displayed throughout the competition. On a tricky section of the route, she committed to the wrong sequence and fell at hold 25+, ultimately finishing sixth.

“That section already confused me during route observation,” Pilz explained. “Once I was on the wall, I couldn’t come up with a better solution either. Unfortunately, I didn’t really enjoy this one, but I’m definitely taking a lot of positives away from the competition.”

After delivering strong performances in both qualification and the semifinal, Pilz remained optimistic about the remainder of the season. “Three out of four rounds were really good. My form is there, and there are still several World Cups and the European Championships coming up,” she said.
